Changing things up
« on: September 15, 2019, 04:01:54 PM »
I recently hand removed a driveway and patio full of paver bricks and replaced the bricks with over 30 yards of concrete.  We also had concrete landscape curbing put in.
With that done I thought it was the right time to switch out the old daily driver and start out with a different style grill. I’ve been using gas assist performers for daily cooks as long as I’ve been active in the group.
At the Chicago meet up Ernie (@einrej) asks if I’m interested in a OT platinum.  I have to admit I’ve been attracted to them ever since I first saw one. So we hooked up a few weeks after the meet up and I came home with this beautiful OTPlatinum.
Wheeled her out on the new patio tonight and smoked up a meatloaf for her inaugural cook.
Thanks Ernie!!

Looks great Dennis!  Glad I didn't come visit on the weekend of brick removal. :p

You got that grill hot because I can see it's angry color.

Your entire driveway and patio was paver? I feel sorry for the crew that put all those down. I also feel sorry for the crew who took them all up [emoji6]. Nice looking concrete and OT Platinum. How are you getting along without gas assist?  Once I converted from performers I ended up selling the ones I had, they hardly got used and took up a lot of space.

Those pavers would make a nice grilling area!

Very nice. Did you do it yourself?  Did you saw cut the joints later in the drive?  It looks great.

Nice, love that concrete edging!
I swear, when I score a great deal on a 26" I'll stop buying grills... So often.
