Dumb Question
« on: March 07, 2019, 06:30:48 PM »
I am putting together a WSM out of parts I have found on line, or donated be fellow smoker fans.

OK, dumb question time.

Does the bowl of the WSM, not have tabs built into it to hold the charcoal grate like the Weber kettle does, and just rests inside the bowl?

Thanks

Bertl

The screws and washers of the bowlvents are holding the charcoalgrate like at the Smokey Joe's.
Hope i coul't help you...

As Bertl indicated above, the charcoal grate just rests on the bolt and nut that secure the legs onto the bowl.  This is the best photo I could find in my files showing how it rests on the nut and bolt.

Charcoal grate rest on top of 3 leg bolts/wing nuts. Same way as any SJ/SJG and Outrider setup.
