Picked up a new red gem today
« on: June 11, 2013, 04:27:27 PM »
I'm up in New Jersey for some training so like any kettlehead I do some searching. I came across this for $20. Fair deal I think. Has some beauty marks but gives it character. I'll clean her up when I get back home. What year might she be??

A Wonderful Family!!!

Nice pickup! I wonder what happened to the triangle frame?

That says Pat Pending, right?

An informal guide to narrowing them down to a window of time. If your grill has these cosmetic traits or markings: Vent reads Bar-B-Que-Kettle Patent Pending with small single turn tabs on lid and bowl, plastic or metal wheels/thin whitewalls with plastic hub caps and rubber treads. No thumbscrews. Based on research would place your grill between 1968-1970.
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!
