Shepard's pie the Weber Way
Sear some chops
Make Guinness beer cheese dip
Homemade lamb stock
Drink
Brown some ground lamb
Add the cubed chops and other shit
Drink some more
Add the stock and cook at 300
Peel some potatoes
Switch to bourbon
Start another grill for indirect for potatoes
Prep the stuff for Soda bread
Make another drink
Start another grill 375 with stone for bread
Mash taters and add to first grill, crank wide open lid off to brown taters in the basement
Was told not to make another drink, made one anyway
It was a grate day, hope I can squeeze all the pics in

Hello all! Just wondering if we all got a chance to do a dish for good old St. Patrick's Day

@Scott Zee , @Troy , @james1787 , @Bob BQ , @HoosierKettle and all others. I scanned the "FOOD & COOKING" post and have my own list put together but I really don't want to miss any.

Thanks

I bought a chuck roast with the intention of making a video, but so far life and procrastination have gotten the best of me

Here’s mine
Did smoked corn beef for rubens.
My first try and I think it came out pretty good. Over did the brisket a little, but still made for great sandwiches!
Thanks Dan, for putting this one together!

Irish chowder.

I initially wanted to do the classic corned beef and cabbage but then I decided to dig a little deeper for something I hadn’t made before. I stumbled across a recipe for Irish chowder that I modified a little to fit the ingredients I could easily obtain.
Thanks Dan!

I first sweated some bacon and onions

Then added some potato

Then added some chicken stock and bay leaves and thyme and simmered for 20 minutes

While that was going, I diced up some partially frozen salmon and flounder.

The recipe called for smoked fish so I had the fish “smoking” in a bowl for a few minutes before I added to the pot. I also added mussels.

Cooked another ten minutes and removed from heat and added heavy cream and served.

All the while I had Irish soda bread baking. My wife usually makes it and it’s wonderful but she was gone tonight so I had to make do on my own.

All I can say is I love mussels and this chowder didn’t disappoint.

Also, I was very glad to have the smoke shack roof over my head. It rained the whole time.

I must apologize for the tardy tally totals! (Try saying that 3 times after 6 beers)

This 2019 we had some great entries. I’ll be trying a few during the year myself. I would like to thank all the participated and all that voted thank you also. I really enjoy doing this St. Patrick’s Day Grill-a-thon each year and look forward to the different types of Irish food we come up with to toss on the grill.

Thanks to the members who donated items for the St. Patrick’s Day Grill-a-thon you know who you are.

It was a draw between hoosierkettle and bladz the votes where…

Hoosierkettle   - 10750
Bladz         - 10750

(Exaggerate for drama effect)

All who participated received votes. So remember next year to participate again.

@HoosierKettle and @bladz please PM me and let me know what prize you want (Hat package or iGrill package). First PM’s gets first choice.

Really happy all enjoyed this 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Grill-a-thon and I hope you all are in for next year.
