Just some leftovers
« on: June 05, 2013, 07:56:30 AM »
I pulled a couple pieces of standing rib roast out of the freezer and thawed them.

But first some spuds.

And then sear the roast slices (about 1" thick.)

The beef was a little gristly but the flavor is still awesome, particularly with some fresh grated horseradish. A nice salad rounded it out and we had some fresh cherries for dessert.

This was done on my '74 18 and using the CI grate from my Lodge Sportsman.

Do you mean the Lodge Sportsman's grill? Here it is sans grate while I'm heat soaking the high temperature paint.

Or my '74 18?

Yummy lookin' stuff.....are those ducks in the last pic, they look narrow for chicken?

I just got me a grate sort of like that from a 2nd hand store, so some more good ideas....thanks !!!!!

Yes, I was defrosting the freezer and found the last two of a couple ducks that our son raised. They came w/out skins but smoked up pretty nice.
