We decided to spend a few days of our fall break vacation in Memphis, TN. While I’m from Chicago and live in Indiana, my mom was born and raised in Memphis. I consider myself half southern [emoji16]I spent many a summer vacation there and it’s also where I learned to love bbq. There are more bbq restaurants in Memphis than anywhere in the US.
We did our obligatory visit to the Rendezvous. If you have never been there, it’s a must.
I love blues too, so Beale street was another spot.
We finished our trip heading a bit more south in Clarksdale, Mississippi, home of the delta Blues Museum.
We ate lunch in a great bbq joint in Clarksdale called Abe’s bbq, which is next to the “crossroads,” made famous by Robert Johnson. Great day, great music, great bbq.
