Ghost peppers in the garden....
« on: August 13, 2018, 04:25:16 PM »
So this year in my garden I decided to grow some ghost peppers . Why? Well I thought it would be fun to see what would happen. So far and few of my friends and I have taken a SMALL bite out of one of these bad boys . And holy shit they are hot! And I LOVE hot stuff ......I want to make something with all these, maybe some salsa?? Have you guys tried them? Or made anything from them??? Kinda interested to see....

My bil has made a sauce with them. I usually make habanero sauce instead. It's a great additive to other sauces and salsa. Take your favorite salsa and give it a hell of a kick with a spoonful or less. Really good mixed with BBQ sauces, ranch, dejion mustard, salsa, mayo, etc. Lasts awhile too depending how often you use it.

Wow that’s some good ideas . I wouldn’t mind trying a bit of all those .

I really like the flavor of ghost peppers. They go well in a lot of bbq stuff because of their earthy flavor. Check out some peach or mango ghost pepper hot sauce/salsa recipes. You can also smoke them and grind into a powder as a nice condiment.

I have done that a few times and it works grate, just be careful of the vapors as you grind, just sayin' LOL

This is my first time growing them as well.
Only have 2 plants but man, are there a
whole crap load of them.

Waaaay more than what my habs and japs plants are producing.
We've had so much rain this summer, maybe the ghosts are
more tolerant of too much water.

I'll definitely have more than enough to try smoking some.

Heed well what the great @Darko speaks.
I dried some habs last year and the dust
almost dropped me.  A dust mask and googles
is not a bad idea.

Be careful of what you touch when you go to the bathroom.

I don’t have a pressure cooker , but I have been leaning on making some hot sauce . Maybe a couple different kinds . I just picked about 15 more last night. And there is a boat load more to come .
