A pretty Chill Weber Weekend
« on: May 06, 2018, 12:38:54 PM »
After a pretty busy work week, I was really looking forward to a chill Weber weekend.

I picked up a really nice Weber Chill on Friday afternoon.  The seller turned out to be another Weber enthusiast and I hope she’ll join the fun here at WKC.  I sanded and oiled the side tables and they came out great.  I wonder if Zavodd44 could make a handle for the Chill?  Thank you to Chiku18 who alerted me to this FB ad; I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise.  Pretty excited to add this neat accessory to the lineup.

On Saturday we went out for a short hike and afterwards I grilled up some Costco wings on the Snap-On GA.  Like an idiot, I forgot the grilling grate at home, but made do by just grilling direct on the deflector plate.  Beware of gators, this is Florida.

On Sunday, I wanted to finally play with the SnS that Chiku18 gave to me a couple weeks ago.  I rubbed this butt with Swamp Boys from our infamous @Rub and let the SnS and iGrill do their thing.  Truly set-it-and-forget-it.  Which let me turn my attention to a late breakfast...

I pulled out the 22” Lime Gardener, for only the second time, to make bacon and eggs on the griddle.

Then snapped some pics in the garden before an early dinner.

I had a wonderful Weber weekend. Hope you did too!☀️[emoji41]✌️

This past weekend we took a leisurely paddle down the Ichetucknee river which is fed by natural springs and maintains a constant 72F, perfect for chilling out on sunny days.

Afterwards, we fired up a kettle and made an easy dinner of brats, onions, peppers, and potatoes.

Nice!

And that turtle convoy / wedding image is perfect.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

That's a beautiful river and area. I used to go canoeing and camping up there as a Boy Scout. And the brats meal looks killer!
