New old Smokey Joe Platinum assembly
« on: April 28, 2018, 05:47:00 PM »
Local Grillfella (Not a member yet) who let me have this unopened Outrider requested to have some assy. Pics post on the forum.

Real treat for me to open the box up for the first time after 12 years sealed up. DR-code.

Had a chance to put it together today.

Trying out the Grill Grate.

Almost a perfect fit on the Green CGA.

Thank you for passing this on to me.  You know who you are.

Brand new or super clean kettles make the best sounds. Get webers charcoal basket or ABC's slow n sear charcoal basket. The ABC basket is aluminunized, they used to have SS they might have run out. And yes it will fit the outrider.

Much more so since it is a NOS. Almost bought new jumbo joe until I was offered this sweet outrider. Thanks!

Pretty sweet Dan.

Was thinking about you the other day as I was drinking some of that beauty bourbon you left me.....it is a few fingers from the bottom so I am gonna have to buy the next bottle. Acquired a ten year old version of the same thing a couple months ago as I liked the first one so much.

That is damn sweet, indeed!  Great cooker, BTW.

It was @MrHoss that showed me the way for cooking low'n'slow on the Outrider.
Save some of that bourbon for me …  ;) ;)

Yes, on their site it says they do not anticipate getting any more of the SS charcoal baskets made.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
