WSM WHEELS
« on: April 01, 2018, 12:17:22 AM »
I see the pictures of added wheels,
first thing to come to mind is what kind of wheels are they that don't melt.
I think of the heat transfer and the radiation heat from the fire bowl.
I have a wsm 22.5 and looking to place wheels on it, I figure 4"locking shop type for better roiling.
Then I see the cajan with 1 or 2" on there mid section locker, and wonder about rolling ease.
is this smoke chamber to fire bowl work and worth it?
Thank yall ahead of time,
Mark/Waco
I still don't know how to add the grills permanently.

I have never heard of wheels melting on a WSM. Generally a WSM is also supposed to be used at lower heat. Locking casters would be best. Ironically, higher quality casters roll better and will require a lock to stay stable. Safety first, try not to move a hot WSM with meat on it.

I ONLY plan to roll it from storage to cook area. Might be 5' if windy might be 20'. Your correct on safety. Thank you for your help.
