Ash Catcher restoration using bench grinder

Has anyone here done this? Polishing it by hand is a $#^%!#& so any insight is appreciated!

I hit them with an SOS pad. Second when it is wet, give it a squirt of Aluminum Mag Cleaner, lightly scrub with 0000, rinse, now your ready for Mothers Mag Cleaner.

Golly and I both have bench grinders setup with a cutting wheel and a buffing wheel and use the appropriate compounds. It works great but is time consuming
 I have been getting a better result with 0000 steel wool and a polish plus its a helluva lot quicker

Thanks, Hogsy. I'll have to give polish a shot. I haven't tried that in combination with the fine steel wool.
