German Pancake
« on: May 12, 2013, 09:41:04 AM »
I got this recipe from Ballistic BBQ and it turned out great! Never had this before, in fact never even heard of it before but I really liked it.....the rest of the family not so much. My wife did not like the first bite but it grows on you and she was kinda liking it after a few bites and had two pieces. I covered it with powdered sugar and some fresh squeezed lemon . Served it with some maple syrup on the side.

This is the same setup I use to bake a pizza, getting it closer to the top of the lid makes for more heat on the top of the pan and not burning the bottom while still going direct over a full chimney of charcoal. I pulled this off after about 20 minutes at around 450 degrees.
If it needs to be Heated to be Eated, I can do it on my Weber!

I think this is the recipe. Looks pretty simple.

New CI is "out for delivery" today, including the skillet. I think I know what's going in it to start breaking it in. :D

Did I forget the link? http://ballisticbbq.com/blog/?p=119 (Or is this link forbidden on WKC)

1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
4 eggs
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Melt the butter in the pan but do not add to mixture. Pour the mixture on top of the melted butter in the pan and do NOT stir contents. Back at about 425-450 for 15 to 20 minutes.
