Pork tacos
« on: January 03, 2018, 07:54:45 AM »
I don’t know if these are tacos or burritos but they are good and simple. I started off with leftover pulled pork in black iron skillet, then covered with a fajita wrapper to keep the heat in and make wrapper pliable, then insert pork, cheese, and your favorite sauce, fold and return to skillet. It was a nice quick treat.

Looks tasty. I just did something similar. First I made a shoulder using a spice rub that i came up with to mimic tacos al pastor (plus a pineapple juice spritzer).

The next day, i took some left over pulled pork and reheated it on the Weber GBS wok over some left over charcoal.

I'd call that a "wrap" over a burrito, though. IMHO, you'd need to serve it in an open face soft corn tortilla to call it a taco. Crunchy tacos and burritos don't really exist south of the border. Those are north of the border items. Call it delicious, though. Because I still have some more and now that i have seen your picture, i want to go reheat some more pulled pork al pastor.

I have had some burritos from Central Valley taco trucks that look very similar. Let’s go with that! Looks excellent!

Just wanted to throw it out there as another option but the pulled pork would also be good as filling in tamales. A lot more labor intensive making those, though.

Thanks guys!  Swing on by, I almost always have pork in the freezer ready to go. Using pulled pork with anything nachos or tortillas is always a hit around here.

Go anywherejeep, that’s a good idea for tamales. I haven’t tackled making any yet but I’ll get around to it.
