Broken Leg Sockets – My hardest restore
« on: January 08, 2018, 12:17:27 PM »
Hi guys,

I would like to show you my hardest restore project....

I live in Switzerland and I saw that someone sell a MBH in Germany last year...
(It is very hard to find a MBH here in Europe...)
I’ve contacted the seller and after waiting some days I got a call and she told me, that I could get the grill.
Wahoo!!! ;-)

She sent me the grill and I was so happy to unpack the weathered warrior...
But my happiness was over very fast...

Two broken leg sockets.... and no ash pan...;-(
After I send some pictures to my friend @Bertl  from Austria and told him from the missing ash pan, he send me very fast one of his reproduction ash pans... thank you very much ;-)
I’ve sent a message to a colleague, if he would have time to weld the leg sockets...
He’s very busy, but last weekend he had time... ;-)

So here are some pictures til now... (I will polish the vents next weekend...)

Beginning with the restore ....

Ahhh... she's standing on her own legs again! Grate find, and grate restore!
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

It’s rust converter. I took it for 24 hours in the grill and after that I burned it out for 2 hours.
