See that's the thing.. These are very rare, but driving around the suburbs where @Kneab and I live (thus close proximity to Weber) these do pop up, never making it far from where they were made.  (the legendary Erich Schlosser once lived in Lake in The Hills as well)

But it's not uncommon for me to be driving around the neighborhood and see a yellow one full of flowers, a red one behind some old items in the yard, etc.  Being so close to Weber, it "was never a big deal to have one" and very common yet people don't let go of them either.

Fortunately many are hanging on to and restoring these old gems and when you come across a Meat Cut, holy cats.. that's fantastic.

Congratulations.
Thanks for posting about Erich Schlosser. Found this about him.

Erich was a cool guy.  His wife Edna ran the test kitchen and I'd have to cut up the onions if Erich wasn't around -they'd make her eyes water too much.  We were all pretty close up until Weber and I parted ways and I think the Weber cone of silence came down on them and they never spoke to me again.  Quite bizarre but I guess it makes their world go around.

I should dig out a few of the pics I have from when I was at Memphis in May with those characters.

@Kneab - Can we clone your wife? I'd sign up now for a version if this were possible.

...I tell her that we want that....

Classic. Nicely done on all counts, sir.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
