Pizzaque prep [emoji487]
« on: August 31, 2017, 06:35:32 PM »
So I'm setting up my pizzaque for tomorrow. Ready to go. Don't worry I'm not using my yellow kettle

Going to use a black 22 beater kettle tomorrow

Great activity with the family! Let's see how it goes, pics to come

Look forward to seeing how it goes. I like my pq. It's fun to use and works well.

Basically I put a chimney of lit coal in a horseshoe shape and add most of another unlit chimney to that.  Let it come up to temp and your ready to go.

Making and forming the dough and transferring the pizza to the oven is the trick unless you already have pizza skills which I didn't.

Parchment paper is what changed my life as far as pizza goes. I place a dough ball on a piece of parchment, I place another piece of parchment on top,  I roll the crust out between the 2 pieces of paper, I remove the top piece, then launch the pizza using the parchment. Wait a couple minutes and you can snatch the paper right out and your good to go.

This also allows me to make a few pizzas ahead without having multiple pizza peels. In fact, all you need is the one supplied peel. No need for a wood one.

Looks great. Did you do one homemade crust and the rest pre-made?  Pizza night is just plain fun.
