Reading Weber's Greatest Hits
« on: July 03, 2017, 05:11:27 AM »
I was reading Weber's Greatest Hits this morning and saw something that has to be a typo. On page 14 they talk about charcoal. They state that 80-100 briquettes will last an hour. The 4 pound sample they sent me had about 45 briquettes in it.

I did 3 separate cooks using the 4 pound sample
So I need about 8 pounds to cook for an hour. Wow. That's alot of charcoal.

Does anyone else think that this is way off?

I agree with @RUBAR-B-CUE, they're just trying to activate and scare the lemmings. I bought my first bag of the new Weber charcoal and did a prime brisket on it. Great stuff, I let it go with the atc'er still going after I took the meat off and it started to fall below 235F after about 19 hours, but at 14.99 (the new price) I'm not gonna be a regular for that stuff. I couldn't tell that much of a difference between it and kbb or royal oak briquettes to sell me on it.
