Technically too late.
The way the first batch of shirts worked:
- i figured out the costs
- i made it possible for everyone to order and pay me
- when i had enough orders placed (30), I ordered the actual shirts
- shirts get done, I ship them out
Unfortunately this means that the first people that ordered there shirts have waited 2 months.
It sucks. It was handled poorly. I don't want to do it that way, but right now I don't have a lot of options.
The purpose of the project was to advertise the WKC and to help cover the costs of the site.
If I were to front a bunch of money to maintain an inventory of shirts, it would take considerably longer to actually put money towards the operation of the site AND it would cost me a bunch out of pocket.
Since I don't want my wife to murder me, I opted for the slower method.
At this point, I'm planning on ordering another batch of shirts to cover the orders that have been placed to me AFTER i had already placed the order for shirts.
I'll add 10 or 20 additional shirts to the order (out of pocket) just to speed things up for people.
I"ll change the way the order process works and there will be a visible inventory for all shirts and patches - essentially upgrading the site from a few paypal buttons to more of an ecommerce solution (still utilizing paypal).
However that may take a while, as I'm literally in the process of packing up all my shit and moving across the country.
