Thermoworks smoke
« on: June 01, 2017, 01:56:20 PM »
Hello, I was hoping someone from this great forum could answer a question about this thermometer and it's probes. Will this unit work by having the probe wires placed between lid and bowl of a master touch or would I need to modify the kettle. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the response, I recently got my first weber and I love it but I have been doing without a thermometer and I found out today how far off the dome thermometer is... holy smoke

Temps vary all throughout the kettle during a cook. Find a spot you like and keep the ambient probe there as much as you can. That creates a baseline where you can learn and adjust vent settings and cook times. This is used primarily for long cooks, in my opinion-

Wires between kettle and lid = no problems.

Last I heard from Becky was late 2013. Time flies. She had just come across the check we had sent after losing it in a move or something.  I sent her a swag bag from Weber we had left over from the meetup at Jeff's. No word since then.
