lighter cubes
« on: May 20, 2017, 02:44:44 PM »
I have been using chimneys with newspaper for years. Bought my first Weber cubes today. They have foil tops, which obviously need to be removed. Do you place them with the plastic bottoms under the chimney?

Just use the cube itself.

Hold the packet foil up, using thumb pop the cube up, remove any lingering foil, place naked cube (actually just half a cube will work) on grate, light it, place full chimney over flame.

Just yanking your chain @stev

To be honest, I was trying to peel the foil the first time I tried them with no success until I realized they just pop out of the package. Think of it like those blister packs of gum with the foil back. They just push out.

@HoosierKettle So that's what's making all that racket under the sink! Seriously, thanks for the help. After a second glance, it's a no brainer.

I miss that show, too.
One more stupid question, how does the cube not fall through the grate when is burns down some?

No stupid questions. We do, however, like to razz each other from time to time.
Don't know why they (cubes) do what they do and don't fall through, but they don't really get small enough too. They just work.
