Cover for Ranch Kettle
« on: April 15, 2013, 01:52:23 PM »
I wanted to get a good cover to help maintain the work I did getting my CL RK all cleaned up. After searching around the Internet, I took a chance on a cover that I thought would fit.

Before - tarp with bungee cord. Not desirable for long term use.

After - looks like it was made for it.

Here is the site http://www.the-cover-store.com/.
They sell three different types of covers. I went with this one.

This is made for a round table, but the dimensions are close to the ranch.
It seems much better than the covers you get from weber. Has a drawstring and elastic band around the bottom. It also has some side vents. Should last longer than the Weber covers. It was $64 but I think it was worth it.
Thought others with a RK might like the info. I always keep my grills covered when not in use since we have a lot of trees in the backyard that drop stuff most of the year.

Very nice, Mike. I may have to snag one of those covers for mine!

I was at the hardware store today and these looked promising. And they are $25 to boot!

Round fire pit cover, 44" dia x 20" h

There's also something called a "Chat table cover" 54"dia x 21"h but it's not online.

Nice!

I went to the cover store and requested that they make one to fit a mini-WSM.

Ha, I went there specifically looking for a mini-WSM cover.
I thought this looked promising, but couldn't find any specs nor where to order it.

I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

It was this one - http://www.the-cover-store.com/round-patio-table-cover-42-25-inch-ultima/?color=Tan

The ultima one - 63.99. It has held up nicely(except for problem below which wouldn't have happened if it fitted a bit looser). I would suggest getting the one with a larger diameter. (48 inch). The fit is pretty tight, and a couple of winters ago when we got a huge snow - like two feet, the weight must have put pressure on where the tube for the lid bale is and caused a small rip. I was missing the plastic cap on the tube). The rip hasn't gotten bigger. I will buy the 48 diameter by 25 inch next time I need one. Grill stays nice and dry, and the material is breathable I believe.
