You got a love Chicago in the springtime because everyone starts to clean out their sheds. So Sunday I picked up a gas assist black stainless steel performer. It's in pretty good shape.
Then today I saw on Letgo there was a lime green Crate and Barrel Gen 3 performer. So I swung by and picked that up after I got off the train.
Then I saw another ad on letgo for a non gas assist red stainless steel performer. I wasn't really interested in that but Craig was so I decided to see if I could get it. The guy gave me a price but I thought it was too much then he told me someone else was coming to get it, so I said well if we come to a price can I get it my van tonight. He said okay but can I come and get it tonight, however it was already 10 PM. I said okay I can leave now and he told me he wouldn't be home til after 11:30. So I was a little squeamish going out that late so I grab my neighbor and we set off to get Craig's red non-gas assist stainless performer.
Now as I write this I still don't believe Craig has any understanding that I had to go at midnight and pick this thing up. He's snoozing in his bed fast asleep......However I look at it like this I'm doing a buddy a favor and when you see the stuff you buy it, you just have to get it when it's available.
So I meet the guy and we go into to his garage and he has at least half a dozen big newer Genesis gassers. He's got a big summit in there, that needed some work. He also has an old Genesis Junior, as well as a lime 22, and a blue Mastertouch. He also has an old Yellow Electric 18 from the early 70's.....I wasn't leaving there without this stuff.....So I struck a deal for the yellow electric 18, the lime, the black Genesis Junior and the non gas assist red stainless performer for Craig.... I guess the kettle karma paid off going out at midnight to help a buddy get a grill....so here is the evening haul
Yo
You just gotta love Chicago in the springtime!
