HEY MARTY & OTHERS,

I just came back from picking up a new WEBER Q-1200 in Lime Green this afternoon!

I have 3 steaks waitin' in the freezer:  A T-Bone, a Ribeye, and a big ol' Porterhouse!

Thanks for your comments on the Q...you sold me!

I told my wife that the hardware store had the Q in Black, Orange, Blue, Lime Green, and Purple.

She told me not to buy any of those "outrageous" colors, only the Black.

So I obeyed her and brought home the Q in Lime Green!

Congrats sir! If I was looking for a gasser, the Q-1200 would be at the top of my list...blue, red(Ace Hardware?), or black for me though.

I got mine from OHS (Orchard Hardware Supply) in the town of Hesperia, CA.

I know it has a Piezo-Electric spark generator for a starter, but I don't know how it can continuously produce sparks just by holding down the button!

Every piezo device I ever used produced one spark per stroke of the actuator.

Is it electronic, Hal? A lot of the new grills use a battery / capacitor circuit to produce the spark instead of a true piezo. You can actually hear them charging up over the course of a second or two. Sounds like winding up before it goes zap!

Hey pbe gummi bear,

I wasn't aware that spark-starting devices now use capacitive-discharge circuits!

Then that's what mine must have, especially since I noticed an AAA battery in the list of parts, right behind the push-button!

Also, my igniter continuously spits out about 5 sparks per second with the button held down!
