Looks like an old school avacado from the photos....still some life in it yet and definately a good resto project. Theres a lot of good information on this site to assist. As for the dampers, a mag/aluminum cleaner like Mothers Mag or similar works very well and can bring a mirror-like shine to those vents and legs.
