Super Bowl food ideas
« on: January 24, 2017, 12:18:13 PM »
Haven't seen any discussions yet on Super Bowl food ideas so figured I'd start one; never too soon to start planning.

I'm planning to make mostly small bites: pork burnt ends, chuckies (faux burnt ends), and wings.

I have approx. 20 adults to serve and they are bringing various sides.

What do ya'll plan to make?

I'm making turds for a neighborhood SB party.  Planning on cutting them into thirds when they are done and sticking toothpicks in them so they will stretch a little further.  And I'm sure my neighbor is going ask me for some smoked pepper jack cheese for the party as well.

I might do cheese stuffed burgers. They came out great the last time I tried. Use something to make bowl craters in hamburger patties. Create a mixture of cream cheese, cheddar and diced jalapenos. Put that in the crater, wrap the patty with bacon and cook on the grill with indirect heat at around 350 for 20min.

Wings and Turds sounds ideal to me.
Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

I'd love to make some turds, but they're so labor intensive for a crowd. I have really enjoyed my jalapeņo corer and it helps but with 20 people I'd be making like 100 of em.

Definitively turds and a tri-tip.  Will slice thin an serve with salsas, pico de gallo and tortillas. Also my smoked cheese should be ready.

Pastrami quesadillas! (Kind of an LA thing).

Dry cure all next week, smoke it on Saturday, then gameday we can throw quesadillas on the kettle. I don't know if I will actually end up doing this, but this thread is "ideas."

Pulled pork for us. I'm going to a friends house and I'll be making it the day before.
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!
