73-74 statesman.  The peel is most prominent under the handle.  The rest has almost no peel.

I like it! @bertl and @Mr.CPHo the peel on the yellows is great. Love the mustard yellow from there 70’s. They are hard to come by for sure.  Anxious to see the 70th pastel yellow. Hopefully they will get heavy on the paint and create some peel for the future generations!!

Orange peel is considered an enameling defect and any lids/bowls exhibiting the defect shouldn't make it out the door. I can't deny that I personally think it looks cool, but the average kettle purchaser (not the diehard kettle fans here) would likely be upset and file a warranty claim or return their grill. At the very least they might leave a bad review regarding poor QA standards. #IworkforWeber

Does anyone know what year they stopped having the "peel"?
I have a hard time getting it to show up in the pictures too

It's been considered a defect since I started working for Weber in 2010. I'm not sure exactly when the QA standards on that defect were tightened up, but it seems to be more prevalent on pre-2000 models, and these days nothing should leave the factory if it's exhibiting orange peel. #IworkforWeber
