Once you see an 18" in person, it's way bigger than you think is.
Still need a 22” yellow

If money is not an issue buy the WSM 22". You can fit full racks of ribs without cutting them in half or coiling them, also full Packer Briskets. You can cook chicken wings or parts at a high temp over live fire with the water pan removed.  I would like to have a 14.5 WSM for small cooks like a Chuck Roast but I normally do that on my Kettle.  The more room you have the better, especially when people taste your food, you will be cooking more than you thought you would at one time.

I have a 18 and i am doing 46 Nathan all beef dogs on it right now for my wives work lunch for charity, I like this size as you can do a smaller cook or a larger cook, as i did a 20 lb Turkey on it last month , lower fuel usage, Very versatile.

I have a 22 and it is huge.  Lots of real estate.  I was debating on an 18 or 22.  I went with the 22 for many reasons. Even though a lot of my cooks will not require all that space, I can feel comfortable that when I do have a large cook, I will have plenty of space and not have to play Tetris with my meats.  I figure I would do at least 1 large cookout for my son's birthdays in July where I can do like 4 racks of ribs and a large butt or brisket.  Then another large cook on Thanksgiving where I will smoke at least 1 turkey and maybe 2.  We have a large day after thanksgiving party where we will have about 30-40 people.  And If I do the turkey(s) outside, I can have the oven reserved for other sides.

Now the only downside I can see is if I do a small cook, I would be using more fuel and more charcoal.  I would rather waste charcoal which is relatively cheap than have to worry about not having enough room.  And in any case, If I need to do a smaller cook, I may look into investing in a WSM 14.  Now I would have to convince the wife that it is a good idea to have a large and smaller smoker....

When I was competing, I bought two 18.5s from a fellow competitor. I love those units! They both came with custom charcoal baskets, which make a big difference. There's plenty of room and are really stable cooking machines. My 2 cents...
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Thanks everyone for the replies.  I think I am leaning to the 18". It should cover about 95% of the cooks I would do for now anyways. I don't think I need anything bigger than that at least for now until I truly get comfortable smoking and I have only done it a couple times now.  Once I get comfortable the. I would feel better cooking for a lot of people

Thank you. @pbe gummi bear

I mentioned this sale to my wonderful  wife/enabler.
She responded with maybe you should see if they have one in stock.
It could be an early xmas gift.
Instead of rolling eyes I was encouraged to go get one. Holy shit! I can't remember the last time I got to Cabelas and back so quickly.
My wife is the best. 😚👧
Thank you honey. First cook is her favorite.
