14" 1880 question
« on: November 19, 2016, 09:08:45 PM »
I don't have a current 14" to compare. Are the grates the same? Mine are not in the greatest condition. Can I replace them?
Still need a 22” yellow

He's talking about the 14" WSM, @Lemans .  I don't believe you can get them at a big box store. @ramsfan , didn't you look into this when you had your 1880? I think @fedex might have the new 14" and old 14" also, and might be able to answer that….

They the grates from the new 14.5" wsm will fit the 1880 but they are not the same. The old ones dont have the handles and the lower grate on the 1880 is technically different. However, you can lay a 2nd grate on the bottom just fine.

Yes, this is correct.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Thank guys! I don't mind a rusty charcoal grate, and I like the handles on the cooking grate. I'll keep the originals for posterity sake.
