Does anyone make the charcoal rails for this one?  It only came with one. You can see it in pic #5 laying on top of the grate.

Can you post some more pictures of the rail?

I have some old rusty ones, but I thought they were all the same.

I will in a week or so. I dropped it off at a local welder and he's making me some more.

There is no patent number on the vent. Can I assume this is 1967/1968?

After thinking about it. This is not getting restored. It's going to get a good cleaning and that's it. It's too original to muck about with, and I'm liking the patina. Yeah, I'll clean some of the rustier bits, and respray with some Tremclad but this one needs to show its age gracefully.

After talking with the lady that sold it to me and learning the history behind the grill, it has earned respect. To restore, would remove that history.

I called her today asking about the other charcoal holder, as it only came with one. I told her I had cooked on it, and she was genuinely impressed. She told me that her dad would have been proud to see it fired up again.

100% agree, the old patina is where it's at for me....I love the original look

Beautiful Cado! And yes, the Seville was introduced in 1967, Avocado Green is FOR SURE available in 1968. Unconfirmed in 1967. Which would account for the rarity of pre PATENT standard Cado kettles with thumbscrews. The Seville and Sequoia lid vents followed the same pattern as the standard kettles of the day (pre pat, PAT PENDING, PAT # and so on...) Love this grill!

Oh and the misting pattern on the lid resembles the PAT PENDING era Cado models. This may favor 1968 more but I'm not 100% sure. Most of the pre pat thumbscrew Cados have a higher up the dome/thinner misting ring. Of corse for me, at the end of the day, the lid vent could say PAT McGroin and I'd still gladly cook on it. It's a Seville! Love em! Hope to get one someday!
