Sunday afternoon pies
« on: August 07, 2016, 05:40:06 PM »
Cooked up 4 pies this afternoon - mozzarella basil, pepperoni/canadian bacon/jalapenos, cheese (for the girls), & apple crisp. I used Caputo 00 flour in this recipe with 65% hydration. Didn't turn out like I'd hoped. I'll try KAAP next time to see if it was the flour that was the issue. Otherwise, it was still delicious especially the desert apple crisp pie.

Threw on some salmon & asparagus too.

I've never thought of making a fruit pie.  Now I'll be thinking of it until I make one.

I bake apple pies all the time on the MT. They come out great. And my Granny Smith tree is heavy with fruit.

Your pie looks great! I need to try it like that!
Dude, relax your chicken.

You're pizzas look great as usual!  What did you use on the apple crisp?  That looks pretty damn good.  I'm not a hige desert eater but my better half is and would get more excited when I want to make pizzas if she knew a desert pie would come at the end!

@MikeRocksTheRed My wife wrote down the ingredients for me for the "crisp" part of the apple crisp, so I don't have it memory bank. I believe it was a stick of butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Just mixed up by hand. I could be missing something or have the ingredients wrong, but won't know until I get home. It was an organized chaos for me to get the fire started, prep, and cook, oh and take pics by my self. 8)
