Nice tabletop!

Guys, that's bamboo, and it's actually grass, not wood. One of the quickest growing plants in the world. Some species of bamboo can grow 3 ft a day! That's 1.5" an hour!! Crazy!!

Makes beautiful and durable surfaces, be they floors or countertops. Bamboo makes great cutting boards as well, because it's always used as end grain.
