Lunchtime meetup in StL
« on: June 18, 2016, 08:55:33 PM »
3 of the local GrillFellas and 1 StL ex-pat got together at a local queue joint for a meetup. crowderjd (Jason) was in town and we threw this together at the last minute. Met up at Adam's Smokehouse for a quick lunch. Great conversation, great food ( @Travis didn't you get a pic of your plates?), and great to meet a couple of Fella's that I hadn't met in person before. And of course, a couple Fella's helped a couple Fella's out with a couple of nice grill accessories.

L to R - Bob BQ , @Red Kettle Rich , @crowderjd , @Travis

Unfortunately, not all of the locals were able to show this time. Missed seeing @ramsfan , @blksabbath , @SteveZ . ( @garykirby … your PM mailbox is full… couldn't get the message to you  ???) Hoping we can get together for a proper meetup sometime really soon… and again for sure, when Jason and/or @addicted-to-smoke is back in town.

Hey, it was great meeting all of you and sharing some cool stories over some good bbq! Can't go wrong. Some absolutely fine grillfella's. I'm proud to be apart of the group and I hope to do it all again, soon.

Thanks to Rich for the 22" ash pan. You've got a great kettle collection, brother!

This plate pic is burnt end sandwich and smoked salami. Couple normal sides and their pit beans.

Wish I could've made it.  Softball ran much longer and then pulling stuff together to do fathers day with the folks.  Anyways, next time for sure.

Appreciate the mention. I was actually in town this last week, but deluged with prior commitments to family and other friends.

That said, I'm coming back next month, roughly from the 15th thru 25th. I can't imagine being able to afford that amount of time away again, but we'll see what I can get done beforehand.

On the 16th my sister and her husband are "treating" me to the upcoming oldies show (Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, and Heart). She may have an extra ticket if anyone is interested in being miserable in the heat and humidity some more.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I had a great time.  Excellent bbq, especially the smoked salami.  It was a blast to meet some other grillfellas along with the mayor of STL who apparently also likes good bbq.
