5 years ago left my propane tank on and drained it ! figured time to convert to charcoal ,gutted it and cleaned it to get ready when wifes friend at work heard what I was doing and gifted us a 85 black kettle .no sweep or shelf wrong grate, needed parts hit a brick wall called Winnipeg dealers were no help ,found this site answered all my questions . along the way something changed inside me , started dreaming about kettles day and nite .don't know what happened up to 4 webers and 1 tiny kingsford (I know but it was only $10 ) my collection stands at a 79 and 85 kettle jumbo joe and a 07 performer my neighbors peer over the fence and think I'm nuts .now spend my free time looking for more on kijiji our version of craigslist for a kettle of colour any colour ! am currently obsessed with finding one of those little toy webers that I see on this site . what a great bunch of guys you are ,comforting to know I am not alone in my obsession !

8 total, so not much of a collector.

2 are small SJ's still in boxes, 3 MT's are stored away.  i cook on the other 3.

this thread needs pics, so here are my 3 cookers.  i'll be christening the green gasser tonight, it passed it's test runs today with flying colors.

Blue Wave 18 and Smoke MT.

Green MBH Kettle Gasser
I only use kettles with lid bales.

Hey @GregS. What the story with the blue 18" is that a new grill or something? It's got the new style bolt on handles. Are we calling those taco handles, everyone? Man, that's pretty!

@Travis thanks!  that's the infamous UPS killed my kettle, grill.  it's a blue wave 18 euro i bought off of ebay.uk and had a friend ship here.  but in transit, UPS pretty much killed it.  dents, dings etc.  it was new when i bought it, out of box once for pics.  but when i got it, bad things...
http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/the-waiting-is-the-hardest-part/msg180277/#msg180277

but i touched up the top the other day when she said we needed a second cooker, since the blue was the only "not new perfect" charcoal kettle i have, that's the one i grabbed.  plus, you have to have an 18 handy.  they're perfect for a lot of stuff.

i took off the taco shell and plastic handle and plopped a spare zav i just cleared with spar.  i got a bag of unfinished handles a while back in a trade of something, i forget what tbh.  but i always planned those handles to land on the euro's i'd been grabbing.  they have a cool retro look with proper zav's.

i have a set of walnut or rosewood that are going on the lemongrass or ivory someday.  it'll be a while though.  i need a house with a proper deck and yard for those to come out of hiding.

@GregS That was one hell of a story! I had to read it a few times, in the dark, in the closet, with soft music playing cause of all the friggin models everyone was puttin up! That's a crazy deal about the, well, all of it to be honest, but man, you got one cool grill! I love those 18's. I really think they are my favorite. Take care! I'm gonna go back through that post again.... 😂😂
