Thanks everyone for the kind words.

The clean up is coming along. I need to give a lot more love to the damper that was in a grease fire. But so far I have the bowl done and I'm about to start the lid.

Thanks fellas! I'm throwing some recycled coals from the other night on in an attempt to break up that grease around that last stubborn damper. It's caked on thick on the bowl and the backside of the damper. Crossing my fingers that I won't have to remove it.

Oh and I've had no luck with letting degreaser sit on it.

Great job so far!
I've heard of some guys using floss to help get those vents unstuck never tried it myself, but maybe worth a shot

Thanks man. I was able to free it up the other day after I warmed it up but I underestimated the caked on grease and how much it wanted to hang on to the bowl and damper.

This time around I am the winner! Now it's on to making it look pretty.

Last damper all cleaned up and straightened out. Now it's on to the legs.

(Sorry for the nighttime photo. A father has to take care of his boys first!)
