Needhelping with a color ID
« on: April 24, 2016, 09:46:39 AM »
Pick this up on craigslist thinking it was a red but clearly it's darker than most of the Reds I have seen. Can any of you color experts ID this for me?

Looks like a red, non-mist to me. Which reds have you seen? The 90's red is a little darker than the reds of the 70's and 80's.

Maybe that's it:

I always thought the Reds were like this:

That's why I used the radio flyer wagon for reference

Still happy with how it came out just a little suprised.

The more I look at your kettle it does look more like the color of the darker red mist ring instead of the brighter red on the rest of the kettles. It's not quite brick red or Crimson, and it still looks great.

That kind of reminds me of one of Jeff K's dark (burgundy?) red Master Touch kettle. I like that!

This is my "EO" burgundy OTP.  Sometimes it really looks red

and sometimes burgundy. Here it is next to my red mist MT (at full color change)

drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke    8)
It's not just a grill, it's a WEBER

The Weber is a REDHEAD! The wagon????  :-\

Best color match I have found is Dupli-Color Engine Enamel with Ceramic RED #DE 1653

Big color difference between RED and Maroon!

Many REDHEADS have been touched up with #DE 1653!!

Some of mine actually turn "burgundy" when I cook on them!
