Wire lid hanger for the Master Touch grill Question
« on: March 30, 2016, 01:25:32 PM »
Has anyone ever tried to put a Wire lid hanger for the Master Touch grill 22" onto a 18"? I was thinking I could maybe bend it to get the lid to open to a full 90° like the 2015 grills... Any and all thoughts welcome!!

Thanks

I put a performer lid bale on an 18
Makes a slight funky bend, but works great. And yes it holds the lid almost at 90 degrees.

The lid doesn't slide as smoothly as a 22 lid, but I LIKE it.

@firedude5015 Did you just eyeball it to fit when drilling?

The sell one for the 18" also....they made the 18" platinum. I remember seeing it was only like $8 or something like that if you want to go that route..

The "hangar wire" (bale) is I think still available but the bracket and support bracket probably aren't.

Checking ereplacements.com they also list dark blue and another blue ... never seen any of 'em.

I used the 18" platinum bale with the 22" bracket and strap for an 18" MT and it worked fine.  I just had to set it up a little off center so the one touch sweep would close completely.   I'm probably the only person that would notice it's not directly centered opposite the handle.

Thanks for reminding me Josh.
I ended up trimming 1/2" off the back sweep because of the bracket. I kinda squeezed the sweep together and all still works fine
