Valentine's Dinner
« on: February 14, 2016, 09:11:46 AM »
The lovely wife wanted Surf and Turf for dinner, and who am I to say no to that!  Lobster tails were $5.99 at Sprouts, and I got some nice New York Strip Steaks from Costco.  Full disclosure, I don't really care for lobster, so I also picked up some shrimp for myself.  Weber's recipe for lobster tails seems pretty foolproof.  If you're looking to do this, here's the link:

http://www.weber.com/weber-nation/blog/grilled-lobster-tails

Fired up the A code redhead (It is Valentine's Day after all) and started the potatoes.

Grilled the steaks first (seared for 1.5 minutes per side, then off to the side then covered for seven minutes)

Covered the steaks and let them rest.

Grilled the lobster per Weber's instructions...I'd never done lobster on the grill before.

Put the shrimp on for the last couple of minutes and then plated...She loved it!

That looks fantastic.  My wife saw and didn't guffaw for the first time about me looking at this forum.  I think it was the lobster; I'm pretty sure I witnessed a bit of drool gathering in the corners of her mouth. LOL

@WNC the color change on the A code is pretty awesome.  I did a tri tip again last night and it was still daylight, and I was amazed at the difference.
