Cheesy Baked Asparagus
« on: November 10, 2015, 08:22:11 AM »
I made this on the grill last night and it was really good.  It's an easy recipe and can be open to a lot of personalization.  I didn't have "Italian Seasoning" so I just used salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and little bit of crushed red pepper.  Came out so good I forgot to take a picture of the entire dish...but did get a pic of it on my plate with a brautwurst and some mac and cheese.  I had already sliced into on end and was about to take a bite when I remembered to take the picture.

Cheesy Baked Asparagus

1 bunch of asparagus, woody ends trimmed
3 T. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper...combine and store in an airtight container)
1 T. grated parmesan cheese
3/4 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
italian seasoning

Line a baking sheet with some tinfoil. Place the asparagus on the baking sheet and drizzle with the melted butter. Sprinkle the house seasoning and parmesan cheese over the top. Place in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Remove and top with the mozzarella cheese and a little sprinkling of italian seasoning over the top. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes to melt the cheese and let it begin to brown.

I think there is a rule where ketchup is allows in conjunction with some sriracha, which was the situation in this case!

Asparagus looks and sounds great though. I'm gonna try that one.

That does look good. And I've never heard of the "Siracha Rule", but now it's on the interweb - so it must be true.
