Hi all, I was hoping to share a fairly special find - a new in box "EI" (1997) Red Master-Touch

This was an odd and rather uncomfortable sequence of events with the Craigslist seller as apparently at least two of us received responses back, each from different people, claiming that the kettle was still available. @SmokenJoe and I realized this in the trading post and stayed in touch via pm while we both anxiously waited for another reply. The next morning the lady I had been speaking to sent me an address and confirmed the time we had set up the day before and SJ also received a note saying that the kettle had been sold the night before... It sounds like there was a miscommunication between husband and wife that led to the multiple responses. Frustrating for sure, but certainly not an intentional move on the sellers part...

Thankfully SJ was an absolute champ about it - I really wanted to thank you Larry for handling an awkward scenario so well and communicating behind the scenes with me. Had you received the return call from the seller I would have been equally happy for you sir! You also have unlimited visitation rights and an open invitation for a kettle cooked feast if you ever get up this way. ;) 8)

The kettle was located in Snohomish WA which is about an hour and a half south of me. I was already heading down to Bellingham to ship out a couple kettles so it was only an extra hour or so down the highway. When I arrived the nice lady mentioned that she received multiple higher offers but thankfully was kind enough to hold up our deal and never once asked for more $

Anyways - on to the pictures!!  -  Weber should really consider doing a run of retro kettles complete with wood handles etc!

Has the black vent handle insulator been discontinued?

Those guys were able to handle it because thats the type guys they are. 8)
