Who has the 22.5 rotesserie?
« on: July 21, 2015, 10:55:45 AM »
Thinking of getting one, for those who use one, what do you think? $150 seems steep.

Look for one used, $80 is a good price.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

It is a pretty cool accessory to have but I would say that $150 is basically a retail price.  I would say don't pay more than around $100.

$150 is about retail price but it is totally worth it. If you can find one cheaper that's just icing on the cake!

I have the newer, fitted style Weber Rotisserie.  I like it a lot! The older model with the tabs was not as impressive.

There's one on Ebay right now $49.99 plus $19 for shipping.  Says used a couple times. Has original box.

I have the old style and the new style weber rotis. I like the newer style better. If you wait and are patient, deals will pop up. I found my newer one on sale for $110. The older one I picked up with an older kettle. Paid $40 for the kettle and roti with more stuff included.

Take a look at....    http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/make-a-ham-on-your-$30-00-weber-rotisserie/msg93115/#msg93115

Make your own Weber rotisserie for $30.00
You will need
1 Old Weber
1 Universal rotisserie kit, home center about $30.00
1 Thermometer for the lid about $6 at the home center. You will not know your cook temperature without this.

1. Drill 2 5/16 holes, one inch below lower kettle rim, in the center of the kettle parallel to the wheels.
2. Run spit rod through holes, mount motor bracket on left side. Bracket will have to be shimmed out do to curvature of kettle.
Do not attach bracket without shims for this will add heat transfer to the bracket and motor.
3. I sawed off the non-point end of the skewer rod so only a few inches protrude when in use.

The rod goes into the motor on the left side. The bushing keeps the rod from walking out the right side.
   Questions?
   Thanks,
   E

I like mine. Made some great chicken and prime rib roast with a rot.  Picked mine up on CL for about $60.00.  Not sure I would pay full price. Check my video from a while back:

I'm glad someone bought that roti. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on it 4-5 times.

Welcome to the WKC Mark4mn.
I love mine and use it at least twice a month, mostly for yard bird
with the occasional game hens for good measure.
As everyone else has said, be patient and watch Cl like a hawk
and when you see one in the price range you are comfortable
with, buy it asap. I would be hard pressed to recommend paying
retail for anything, this accessory and the KP are about the only one's
I would consider paying full price for.
