Royal Oak Briquettes
« on: March 23, 2015, 10:06:49 AM »
I found a couple bags of this at WinCo. I'm pretty used the Kingsford Blue Bag but wanted to give it a try.

When lighting it does have a different 'igniting' smell than what I'm used to. Whether that's good or bad, not sure. I did think that it burned hotter but it didn't seem to burn as long.

What is your thoughts on this stuff?

I get it from Do it Best Hardware. I have to special order it but there is no shipping charge,I just pick it up at the store when it comes in. Around $.50/lb.
Looks like Miller's Hardware in Eloy is a Do it best franchise...:)

How does it compare with Stubb's briquettes? I have been wanting to try this stuff out. My charcoal briquette stash is waning and I haven't been impressed with the recent tj's briquettes I have relied on. They have changed over the years.

I really like Stubb's,  but this is close. Occasionally I can find an online coupon that gets the price down a bit. $23.99 for 40lbs right now.

Cool!
Let us know what you think. I love Stubb's, but Walmart doesn't stock it on my area anymore.[emoji35]

I have had pretty good luck with this stuff.

I'll keep my eyes out for it. I am also a big fan of K Comp and it's been my favorite lately.

This has been my fuel for the past year or so. The comparison in quality to Stubbs is spot on. I get mine at Restaurant Depot for ~ $16/40lb bag.
