I got some a little bit ago......the first ones to land here at the Kettle Orphanage.....

I've seen them one other people's kettles, but these will grace some special ones here......just need to choose ones I can keep covered or indoors, as there's not room for everyone to do that.....

Courtesy MacEggs for the wood & of of course, the Mighty Zav for the carving !!!

I use apricot for all my smoking.  Its a slightly sweet smoke that goes equally good with pork and beef.  It also happens to be very plentiful here, the area north of town is dotted with apricot ranches.  I explained this to Zav as I sent him a couple apricot sticks.  Well, I got these beauties in the mail today...

Love them!  cool markings on some local wood that I plan to put on my red "P" code 22 incher.  Thanks again Zav, for the great work!

MacEggs was kind enough to send me some of those nice Mahogany handles Brian made. I got them unfinished. Today is the first day I put one on a Kettle...

I gotta say, @MrHoss, that handle looks outstanding.  :D

I have to send out a million "thank you's" to @zavod44 for his amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail with the wood handles.
The mahogany wood belonged to my Great Uncle. He died in 1974. My folks had a bunch of it in their possession.
I grabbed some of it last year, and decided to send some to Brian. He accepted my handle request without hesitation.

With some patience on both ends, the handles finally arrived ….

Unfinished handles ….. Then some Danish oil applied …. They currently have 2 coats of spar varnish on them with maybe 2 more coats to finish ..

Those look awesome.  That would was great, loved working with it.  Show more when you get them done and installed.  That handle hoss showed was amazing.  That color was so rich, did you stain it?  I have to know what you did to it!   Wow!
