Wooden Lid Bale Rollers
« on: November 23, 2014, 06:21:19 PM »
I rescued a beat-up black Master-Touch on Saturday.

Has anybody installed custom made lid bale rollers made from wood?

The ones from the rescue look like this.  Just wondering if anybody has had it done, or given it some thought. Thanks.

I know that I could just buy new ones, but, sometimes I like to think outside the box.  :)

I'd be willing to bet that if you sweet talked zaphod enough, he could whip something up for you.

I'd be keen for a pair of non-plastic.

I've always thought that SS bale rollers would be nice.

I thought I remembered this topic in the past.
Did a quick search, and nothing significant showed up.
Plus, I was a little lazy to search anymore.

Not a bad idea. Something to consider.  :)

i found some nylon sleeves at Ace but i had to run a thin blade through them to fit over the nubs on the bale.  copper tubing is a great idea.
I only use kettles with lid bales.

What about using some wooden thread spools?

@MacEggs Looks classy, especially if the handles match. Did you make them or is it a miscellaneous piece of something? Reminds me of an old bathroom faucet handle
