Chicago area (Palatine) cook-off comp
« on: August 25, 2014, 09:39:31 AM »
For those of you that are in the Chicago area, there will be a small cooking competition on Sunday, September 14th.  The competition will take place in Palatine and will feature ribs and or chicken.  Its 25.00 to enter and is limited to only 10 total people.  You can chose ribs and or chicken (25.00 for each one).  It will be judged by Kevin Kolman from Weber.
I'm entered for to represent for the WKC and will be making ribs.  I'll also be bringing my smoker with a few choice grills to display and promote our site a bit.

Here are couple links with the information

Go Jeff! Sounds like a fun comp - something I hope to do someday. I'll be there in spirit and look forward to the results.

Good luck Jeff, sorry I can't make this one. I would have loved to compete.

Thanks for the good luck wishes all.  I'll be taking some photos of course.  Will post them following the cook.

Troy, I think I'll have some sort of canopy I'll put up.  Might come in handy if its hot and sunny out.   I'm guessing a couple large tables under the canopy to prep on, with some display grills sprinkled in here and there.
