Fantastic post. In my younger days I worked during my college summers as a fish & wildlife aide and was introduced to "Strips" while visiting many villages in southwest Alaska. At the time ( as a19-20 year old college student) I didn't appreciate the 1000 year history which went into the process of curing the salmon which was given to me by the people of the "Great land". Your post brought back a lot of good memories.  Thank you.
