Seller's remorse
« on: July 07, 2014, 09:20:53 AM »
Any of you Grillfellas ever have regrets selling a Weber? Perhaps as a noob you sold or junked your family's Red MLH or you traded something that you didn't realize you were personally attached to.

I haven't had any regrets selling grills as I usually decide whether to keep or sell them early on. I do grow some attachment to kettles but usually that's after cleaning or working on modding it for a while. Those are keepers for me.

I have gotten more buyer's remorse, lol- usually by overpaying for a flipper or driving too far for something.  :)

I usually sell and move on, knowing that I now have a challenge to replace it on my plate.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

I usually offer to " buy them back " should the purchaser not like it or use it for some reason, makes me feel better about parting with something lol and no I haven't had one come back yet :)

We had an early 70's avocado that my dad had won as a premium for reaching some sales initiative at the time.   In 2003 they downsized and moved into a condo.  Why I didn't take that grill I'll never know but it got sold in the moving sale.   :(

At least the speckled one handle SJ was kept.   ;)

I usually regret it for a day or two. Then one will pop up, I'll grab it and be happy. The one I regret to this day is my ranch kettle. Huge mistake to sell that.

I'm in the process of restoring a Blue 1983 E code which I bought for $20.00.  All I need now are some handles.  I'm not a collector and I definitely don't need another 22 since I have a SS Performer but I really like that sucker.
