Finished cleaning the old girl up this week
Sanded back all the rust on the leg assembly and resprayed it, replaced the whole gas assembly and all the nuts and bolts with SS, new wheels , new burner
I pulled the whole thing apart and cleaned and polished every last inch of it and was pretty pleased when it kicked over so easily
A big thank you to Brian for sourcing the spare parts and to Ed for posting the users manual.
Was thinking of keeping as a looker not a cooker but couldn't resist trying it out
So I knocked up some pizzas on it tonight
Anyway here's some pics
Tried to get the pizza sitting as high as I could
Charcoal rails, trivet then stone gives me about 80mm clearance from the top of the lid
Kids pizza first... Of course
Shortly followed by the adults pizza
Pizzas turned out great , crispy base the whole way through, toppings nice and crispy and it was pretty cool cooking on a grill that's nearly as old as me
This thing gets hot fast..... And I can see why they changed the handle and lid design. After about 5mins the handle was scorching hot.
I reckon this gasser could put a mean sear on a steak but for now its my go to pizza oven
