Long time no post.
« on: June 29, 2014, 04:31:15 PM »

Have not been grilling much lately due to work issues, but today was a much needed break. Top Sirloin, baked potato, grilled zucchini and squash and strawberry-rhubarb pie all on the Weber. It was a good day.

My kind of cook.  Balance of protein and veggies.  I've never baked in a Weber but that pie looks great.  Never had a rhubarb pie, either.  Did you cook it elevated like that?  My guess is it's hotter in the dome area of the lid, right?

Oh man that looks delicious! I've had rhubarb cherry pie several times and loved it. That strawberry rhubarb looks like it's gonna need a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top  ;D. Great cook!

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie is my absolute favorite.  My mom makes it every year for Memorial Day for as long as I can remember.  I never even thought of baking it on the grill.

Thats a great looking meal.  :)

Sadly I'm the only person in my family besides my father that likes rhubarb, so I guess what im saying is if I want one, I've got to make it myself and I get the whole pie to myself... unless I meet up with my dad.

Looks great!

Sorry again. Work sucks. Yes the pie cooked great. I used the side baskets to elevate it. Learned that from somebody here... It turned out fantastic. Just a hint of charcoal in the crust set it off and yes, it had a scoop of Bryers vanilla ice cream. All in all it was a great meal.

Tonight I am grilling some chicken wings. I wrapped a potato in the foil I cooked the breakfast bacon in. Eager to see how it turns out. Kosher salt and bacon grease.....

Just a hint of Apple smoke..will finish with some Franks for me, and some Sweet Baby Ray's for the wife. The bacon potato smells marvelous

Bryers has the best vanilla!

You've inspired me - fruit pie on the Weber is now on my to-do list.  Thanks for the posts.
