...and why should I??? I also decided to cut up a previously cooked butt and make a version of split pea soup in and old #2 Crown bean pot from the '30's, (which was also a gift.)

There's something very special about a blue 18! I know a few of us use them in full rotation. I think Mr. Bill went all out on his and made it into a mini master touch it's badass!

Love that Bean Pot. The grill is striking, might look even better with some sweet wood handles! Keep on posting your cool cooks!

I have to admit, I pissed myself a bit Troy when I read your post. It was a form of split pea soup with pulled rib meat and pulled pork for flavor. Turned out VERY good. I ran it from 9:30 to around 7:30p.m. Thickened up nicely.

I like the pot but would be leery of using it in the grill or smoker. That's after using a white Corelle casserole in the mini and then spending more time cleaning it than on the cook. My preference is to use cast iron which takes the smoke with aplomb.

Ya hank. I was also scared it might crack being so old. I won't be sticking it in a smoker again. Although I would run it cooler on a kettle than I would in the oven. Cleaning it last night took quite some time, you're right.
