Flat iron steak
« on: February 10, 2018, 11:42:12 AM »
Hadn’t cooked a flat iron steak in a long time,so I picked one up at the grocery the other day. Last night was the night and turned out really good. I had forgotten how much I like them, but I will do another one real soon. Was really tired last night and forgot to take before and during the cook pictures, all I got was sliced and plated pics.

Looks great. One of my favorite cuts of steak. Just love the flavor profile of flat iron. Usually cooked it  while the grill is raging hot.

One of the most overlooked cuts of beef. Maybe it's an acquired taste  but I just love the flavor profile of flat iron steak. If cooked properly, it's very tender and the fat is spread consistently throughout the meat. No large slabs of fat in the meat.

Steak looks perfect! Did you marinate it, or just throw it on the grill?

On the grill hot and fast, black pepper, sea salt and sometimes a little garlic powder. Watch internal temp, it will get tough fast if you over cook it. Also bring it to room temperature before you cook it.

without a doubt, we cook more flat iron steaks in my household than any other.....by a wide margin.
